A Sparrow Apartments maintenance worker was rescued Wednesday after passing out on a building rooftop.
According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, units were dispatched at 6 p.m. to Sparrow Apartments for a technical rescue and the patient passed out on the roof of a two-story apartment building.
The ACFR Technical Rescue Team utilized rope rescue techniques to access the patient – who was unable to climb down under his own power – and package and lower him to an ambulance.
Emergency responders transported the worker to a local hospital.
