A 32-year-old Gulfport, Mississippi, man died on Thursday evening after the vehicle he was riding in left Interstate-10 in Suwannee County and collided with a tree.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 50-year-old Miami man was driving an SUV east on I-10 near mile marker 284 in Suwannee County at 9:30 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Emergency responders transported both occupants to area hospitals, where the passenger from Gulfport was pronounced dead. The Miami man sustained minor injuries.
