A 35-year-old Cape Coral man was killed when a pickup pulled out in front of the motorcycle he was driving, critically injuring his passenger and seriously injuring the pickup driver on Sunday.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Cape Coral man was driving his motorcycle on US Highway 301 at 8:45 a.m. when a 73-year-old Waldo man driving a pickup pulled out in front of him from NE 140th Avenue. The motorcycle collided with the left side of the pickup.

Emergency responders pronounced the motorcycle driver dead on scene.

The pickup driver (serious condition) and a 29-year-old female motorcycle passenger (critical condition) from Mauretown, Virginia, were transported to the hospital.
