FHP troopers and ACSO deputies ended a multi-county I-75 chase that started in Columbia County and ended off the Newberry Road exit on Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), the chase started in Columbia County when FHP troopers spotted a driver going 110 mph southbound on I-75.
FHP troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop.
ACSO deputies assisted FHP troopers by using Stop Sticks – a tire deflation device – but were unsuccessful, according to a social media post.
The pursuit ended when law enforcement got the vehicle stopped off the I-75 Newberry Road exit around 1 p.m. The driver was taken into custody.

I have to wonder if it really takes at least 14 law enforcement vehicles to apprehend a single driver?
Something doesn’t seem right with that equation, and sounds like it makes the rest of the area at increased risk.
Is that bad management or bad planning or a combination?
Ya it’s real exiting when someone loses a loved one due to a persons inability to follow the traffic laws that are created to protect everyone. It does not matter of it took 5 cops, 9 cops or 20 cops. You don’t break the laws and you won’t get pulled over by any cop. Pretty simple. Nothing to do with “bad planning” or management. Moral of the story. Don’t speed, and when you get lit up, pull over dumb ass.

Mike , response to Mike until you are involved in that type of vehicle stop it takes alot of experienced people. This is the same as a gun situation the car didn’t create the problem the person driving did. So think about the next time this happens are we going to ban all the cars.
I witnessed this chase on I-75 and happened to get off at Newberry Rd. I witnessed the takedown.
A friend told me it was a semi truck. Was wondering if that was the case?Just fact checking.
