Newberry election qualification period opens

Update: Incumbent Commissioner Tim Marden has now qualified to run for reelection.

At the close of business on Monday three candidates had qualified for the April 13th election in Newberry.

Incumbent Jordan Marlowe has qualified for the mayoral race, Joy Glanzer has qualified to run in the Commissioner Group Four race currently held by Tim Marden, and Tony Mazon has qualified to run for the Commissioner Group Five position currently held by Paul Norfleet.

“I just qualified to run for the Newberry City Commission Group 4 seat, currently held by Tim Marden,” Glanzer announced on Facebook.

The qualifying period runs from noon Monday to noon Thursday, March 11.
