Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) announced that all northbound lanes on I-75 are now reopened after being closed for about six hours.
FHP also released more details on the incident. According to the accident report, an unnamed 48-year-old male from Myrtle, Miss., jumped from the overpass at Millhopper Road into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer.
The 62-year-old male driver was uninjured and brought the 2019 Kenilworth tractor trailer to a controlled stop after striking the pedestrian.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) deputies have shut down a section of northbound I-75 after a fatality accident Thursday afternoon.
“Heavy law enforcement presence on I-75 north bound near the Millhopper Road bridge regarding a suicide,” the ASO tweeted at 4:18. “Please use caution and avoid the area if possible.”
Deputies shut down the I-75 on-ramp at NW 39th Avenue and diverted I-75 northbound traffic in the area of Santa Fe College.
At 4:50 p.m. the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) issued an alert saying there was a “large scene traffic fatality crash” at mile marker 392.
Southbound traffic is heavily congested in the area.
“Please seek other routes if possible,” FHP Lt. P.V. Riordan said in a statement.
