One dead in 3-vehicle Gainesville collision

One person died in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of SW Archer Road and SW 13th Street on Sunday morning.

According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) social media post, the accident occurred at 8:18 a.m. when the driver of a Mazda 6 sedan rear ended a Lexus SUV, which then crashed into the back of a Ford F-250 pickup.

The vehicles were in the eastbound left-hand turn lane.

Emergency responders transported the drivers of the Mazda and Lexus to the hospital, where the driver of the Mazda died. The Lexus driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Ford driver was not injured in the crash.
