2 killed in Columbia County after pickup hits parked semi on I-75

Two Homestead people were killed Friday morning when their pickup collided with a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Interstate 75.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 58-year-old Homestead man was driving a pickup northbound on I-75 near mile marker 413 around 6:27 a.m. when he collided with a tractor-trailer parked on the right shoulder of I-75.

The collision killed the driver and a 46-year-old Homestead woman riding in the pickup.
