A pickup struck and killed a 61-year-old Valdosta, Georgia woman walking on US 441 south of Lake City on Tuesday night.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 33-year-old Fort White man was driving a pickup southbound that collided with the woman who was in the roadway on US 441 at the intersection of County Road 252 at 8:45 p.m.
The pickup also had two passengers – a 14-year-old Fort White girl and a 9-year-old Fort White boy. The driver and boy were not injured while the girl reportedly had minor injuries.
FHP stated the incident remains under investigation.
