A statement from Cineworld, the parent company of Regal Cinemas, indicates a possible closure of all Regal Cinemas in the U.K., Ireland and the U.S.
According to the statement released by Cineworld Cinemas on twitter on Oct. 4th, “We can confirm we are considering the temporary closure of our U.K. and US cinemas, but a final decision has not yet been reached. Once a decision has been made we will update all staff and customers as soon as we can.”
The possible temporary closure was reported by multiple media outlets including Variety and The Sunday Times which indicated that the delaying the premiere of the 25th James Bond film “No Time To Die” was the reason for the loss of expected revenue and temporary closing. All three Regal Cinemas movie theaters in Gainesville are owned by Cineworld Cinemas.
