Second Columbia County crash kills bicyclist, 78, Tuesday night

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported Wednesday morning that a second accident in Columbia County killed another bicyclist on Tuesday night.  

Earlier on Tuesday, two bicyclists were hit by a vehicle headed the same way along NW Lake Jeffery Road. One was killed and the other was taken to UF Health Shands in critical condition.   

The second accident happened around 10 p.m. with the bicyclist, a 78-year-old Lake City man, headed north on US 441. A Ford F350, driven by a Lake City man, 28, was also headed north when it collided with the bicyclist.
