Semi crashes through I-75 median, driver arrested 

A tractor-trailer driver was arrested for driving under the influence when his truck overturned in Interstate 75 on Saturday near mile post 404.

A 42-year-old Valdosta man was arrested for driving under the influence after his tractor-trailer veered across the median of I-75 and crashed into the opposite lanes.  

The crash happened at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday near High Springs Exit 404.  

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the tractor-trailer passed through a guardrail before overturning in the median, but the trailer filled with frozen food continued into the northbound lane. The trailer hit a U-Haul box truck headed north.

First responders treated the semi-truck driver and his passenger at the site. The U-Haul driver sustained no injuries according to the report.  

Law enforcement transported the Valdosta man to the Alachua County Jail.
