Florida Highway Patrol searches for semi driver in fatal I-75 hit-and-run

Law enforcement is searching for a tractor-trailer driver who struck and killed a 45-year-old Gainesville man walking along southbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 382 on Sunday morning.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Gainesville man was walking southbound at 8:55 a.m. near the Williston exit ramp in Gainesville when he was struck by a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer left the scene of the accident.

Witnesses reportedly identified that it was a black semi-cab pulling a white trailer.
