Single-vehicle accident claims Archer man

An Archer man ran off County Road 241 near SW 141st Place on Friday afternoon where he hit a tree and later died.

A 45-year-old Archer man died Friday afternoon when his sedan ran off County Road 241 and struck a tree.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the driver was heading northbound around 5:45 p.m. near SW 141st Place in Archer when his vehicle ran off the east shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

Emergency responders transported the driver to UF Shands Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries According to FHP, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
