Authorities are searching for a suspect who shot a 25-year-old male in Southwest Gainesville on Monday afternoon.
According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. at 5060 SW 63rd Court when an alleged dispute over money or property led the suspect to pull out a handgun and strike the victim with it. The victim fell to the bed and was then shot by the suspect.
First responders took the victim to the hospital under trauma alert, but the injuries are not life threatening, ACSO spokesperson Art Forgey reported in an email to Mainstreet Daily News.
ACSO detectives continue to investigate and are searching for the suspect.
