Sweetwater Wetlands Park recently acquired an electric tram to accommodate people with mobility challenges.
In a city of Gainesville press release, the 10-passenger tram was purchased for $37,180 using the Wild Spaces & Public Places half-cent sales tax.
The tram allows for guided tours where park visitors can learn about Sweetwater Wetland’s wildlife and plants along with the park’s history and management.
Park tours are free with general admission at $5 per vehicle which can be booked in advance via Eventbrite. Park staff ask that if you do not require mobility assistance to join one of its walking tours.
Sweetwater Wetlands Park is located at 325 SW Williston Road in Gainesville.
