“This caused the front of the Nissan to strike the left side of the Ford,” FHP reported.

The Tampa man, his 44-year-old female passenger from Gainesville, and the 29-year-old Gainesville man driving the Nissan sedan were all taken to UF Health Shands Hospital. The Tampa man was pronounced dead, while his female passenger is listed in serious condition. The Gainesville man is listed in critical condition.

The Tampa man was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred, according to FHP. It was not immediately known whether his female passenger or the Gainesville man driving the Ford sedan were wearing seatbelts.
