North Central Florida residents showed once again why they are one of the most philanthropic communities through their participation in The Amazing Give. The Community Foundation of North Central Florida is pleased to announce the fifth annual giving day was a huge success, brining the total raised through the Amazing Give platform in five years to $4,500,000.
The Amazing Give, originally scheduled for April, was repurposed into an emergency relief initiate to help sustain area nonprofits taxed by unprecedent strains on their services and operations because of COVID-19. The Amazing Give 24- hour event took place from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, through 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 20. The funds raised supported 112 nonprofits throughout North Central Florida with causes ranging from mental wellness, animal welfare, arts and culture and education, to the environment, human services, recreation, veterans, volunteerism, and youth. The total raised includes all funds raised in 2020 through the Amazing Give platform.
Fueled by the power of social media, The Amazing Give unites nonprofits in a call to action to raise critical funds they need to make our community a better place to live, work, play and serve. This year, every single participating nonprofit received at least one donation, official noted. Queen of Peace Catholic Academy rasied the most money and Operation Catnip received the most individual donations.
