A train collided with a log truck stopped on Lake Street for a red light in Lawtey on Tuesday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 71-year-old Lake City man was driving a log truck and was stopped on Lake Street at the US Highway 301 intersection at 10:56 a.m. in Lawtey, north of Starke, in Bradford County.
The trailer, full of logs, was on the track when a CSX train traveling north parallel to US 301 struck the trailer. The log truck overturned onto its passenger side, but the driver was not injured.
