Trenton woman killed in fatal hit-and-run

A pickup struck and killed a 68-year-old Trenton woman Sunday night.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the pickup was traveling north on SE 53rd Court at 8:45 p.m. when it hit a female pedestrian walking on the road.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead on scene.

The pickup fled the scene northbound on SE 53rd Court and was found abandoned nearby, according to FHP. Law enforcement is seeking the person of interest who was driving the pickup.

I heard he fled to a nearby lake and was attempted to was evidence of his truck when the police showed up, he then ran into the woods and the police caught him
