A van drove through the Country Road 340 and US 129 intersection striking a sedan and killing a man from Bell on Sunday morning.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 26-year-old male from Live Oak was driving a van westbound on CR 340 at 11:01 a.m. when he drove through the intersection and crashed into a 79-year-old male from Bell driving a sedan southbound on US 129.

Emergency responders pronounced the Bell man dead on scene. Neither the Live Oak man nor his passenger – a 25-year-old Fort White male – were injured.

FHP announced this is an ongoing investigation.
