A 41-year-old Eagle Lake man died and a 47-year-old Inglis man is in critical condition after their vehicles collided on State Road 121 in Williston Highlands on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Eagle Lake man was driving a pickup north on SR 121 just north of SE 28th Street at 3:03 p.m. when he partially left the roadway, overcorrected back to the road and crossed over the center line, striking the Inglis man driving south on SR 121.

Emergency responders pronounced the Eagle Lake man, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, dead on scene, and transported the Inglis man, who was wearing a seatbelt, to the hospital with critical injuries.
