Four Bell High School players will be playing college football this fall at two Florida and two Pennsylvania schools.

On Wednesday, the multi-year Bulldogs starters made their announcement at the Gilchrist County school.

Colby Herring will be a Preferred Walk On (PWO) at the University of West Florida (NCAA Division II) in Pensacola for the Argonauts. Herring was named to the Mainstreet Daily News 2021 All Area small school defensive team as a defensive lineman.

Waylen McCumber signed with Geneva College (NCAA Division III) in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, to play for the Golden Tornadoes.

Hayden Brown is heading to Keiser University (NAIA) in Fort Lauderdale to play for the Seahawks.

“I’m very happy they get to continue to play the game they love,” said Bell football coach Joey Whittington in a statement. “They put in the work to give themselves the opportunity to continue. [They’re] hard working young men who love football. Days like today are very special for a coach.”

Whittington added that all four players graduated from Bell with GPAs over 3.0.
