The Trenton girls basketball team is off to a 2-0 start. The Lady Tigers defeated Union County last night 65-7 outscoring the visiting Tigers 53-0 in the first half.

Trenton girls basketball coach Bryant Frye sent a message to his team after struggling on Monday but still defeating Bronson by the final score of 49-8. Frye has high expectations for his Lady Tigers. He believes Trenton should be competing every night on a championship level.

“Oh absolutely,” he said. “The caliber of talent that we have here is compared to just about anybody in Class 1A.  Our goal is to go to Lakeland. We fell short of that last year. And I reminded them tonight [Monday] that sometimes when you play teams that don’t have the same amount of talent, that you tend to play down to competition. You have to step your game up and play hard, and the way you need to reach the goal that we want to do.”
