Villazon, who was earlier named Class 6A Player-of-the-Year, won the overall award with 12 of the 22 first-place votes and 159 points to finish ahead of Class 5A POY Leah Stevens of Matanzas (Palm Coast), who had 105 points and Class 2A POY Morgen Talley of Calvary Christian (Clearwater) with 83 points.

Class 3A POY Charley Butler of Wakulla (Crawfordville) finished fourth in the voting with 65 points, followed by Class 7A POY Tori Payne of Wellington (43), Class 4A POY Alyx Hall of Fort Walton Beach (12), Rural Class POY Addison Allaire of Trenton (10) and Class 1A POY Keaunna Green of Evangelical Christian (Fort Myers) with seven points.

This marked the second straight year that Allaire was a classification winner.

Last year, Allaire was named the Class 1A Player of the Year after finishing with a 13-2 record in the circle and a 0.99 earned run average. She recorded 213 strikeouts and only 24 walks in 99 innings pitched.

In 2025, she was 12-2 with a 1.42 ERA. She finished the season with only 21 walks and 184 strikeouts in 98.1 innings pitched.

The sophomore tossed 12 innings and allowed just one earned run with no walks and 19 strikeouts in the final four as the Tigers won their second straight state title.

“When the ball is in her hand in the circle, the team steps up their game and level of play with confidence, excitement and swagger,” said first-year head coach Kevin Benson, who was previously named the Class Rural Coach of the Year. When she steps on the field, she is laser-focused, determined, and a complete game changer.”

Allaire also batted .361 with a team-leading seven home runs, scored 15 runs and added 16 RBI. She was also second on the team with a .478 on-base percentage and a .708 slugging percentage.

In his 16th year as Wellington’s head coach, Boretti led his squad to a 23-4 record and the Class 7A state title, the school’s first state championship. Boretti’s 2017 team was the Class 8A state runner-up.

Boretti, who was previously selected as the Class 7A Coach-of-the-Year, won the overall award with six of the 20 first-place votes and 122 points, to finish ahead of Class 4A COY Taryn Gray of Fort Walton Beach, who had four first-place votes and 84 points.

Class 6A COY Willie Viruet of Doral Academy finished third in the voting with six first-place votes and 74 points, followed by Class 5A COY Farrah Gordon of Winter Springs (62), Class 2A COY Amy Smith of Calvary Christian (Clearwater) with 34 points, Rural Class COY Kevin Benson of Trenton (27), Class 3A COY Gator Rehban of Somerset Academy (Miami) with 15 points and Class 1A COY Johnny Manetta of Evangelical Christian (Fort Myers) with 10 points.

All eight finalists led their teams to state titles.

Benson, who received two first-place votes, led the Tigers to a 19-6 record and the school’s fourth state title in the past six years (2019, 2021, 2024 and 2025).

Trenton defeated top seed Liberty County (Bristol), 9-2, in the FHSAA Rural state semifinals, followed by an 11-1 mercy run win in five innings against Northview in the championship game to win their second straight state title.
