The Hurricanes stormed through the visiting Leon Lions in the 6A-District 2 Quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The No. 3 seed Gainesville (15-11) raced to a 22-2 first-quarter lead and jumped ahead 44-9 at the half en route to a 62-22 win.

The Hurricanes will travel to No. 2 seed Lincoln on Thursday.

Eastside 63, Suwannee 55

The No. 4 seeded Rams erased a 16-11 first-quarter deficit and outscored No. 5 Suwannee in each of the final three quarters for a 63-55 4A-District 5 Quarterfinals win.

Eastside (7-16) will face No. 1 seed Palatka on Thursday.
