Hawthorne blanks Chiefland 40-0


The Hawthorne Hornets relied on 20 first half points, and a smothering defense to defeat the Chiefland Indians in the first round of postseason action Friday night.

The Hornets scored an additional 20 points in the second half to complete the rout.

With the win, Hawthorne is 7-2 om the season. Chiefland falls to 1-8. The Hornets play the winner of the Saturday game between Williston and Ft. Meade in the second round of the postseason.
