Hawthorne holds off Union County 30-20

The Hawthorne Hornets scored two first quarter touchdowns and then held off a fourth quarter rally to defeat the Union County Tigers 30-20 in week eight high school football action Friday night.

The Hornets took a 22-7 halftime lead, and then withstood a two touchdown rally by the Tigers in the fourth quarter.

The victory gives Hawthorne a 5-1 record on the season. They play at Chiefland next week. Union County falls to 4-3.
