If you like football, MARC Media has you covered.
This fall, Mainstreet Daily News and 106.9 FM “I am Country” are teaming up to provide high school and pro football broadcast coverage every week.
Your home for Jacksonville Jaguars football is on 106.9 FM “I am Country,” including a “Coaches Show” at 6 p.m. every Thursday. You can catch every preseason and regular season game on the radio, which includes a pregame that starts an hour before kickoff and a postgame that runs an hour after the game.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars after launching it last year,” said Vinny Foo, programming manager for 106.9 FM “I Am Country.” “At 106.9 ‘I Am Country,’ we love being able to bring our listeners closer to the team they’re so passionate about. It’s an exciting way to connect with our community, and we couldn’t be prouder to be radio partners with the Jags.”
In addition to the Jags, you can listen to high school football on 106.9 FM “I am Country” every Friday night, beginning with this Friday’s Belleview at Eastside game with Mike Ridaught (Play-by-play) and former Gator football player Hank Rone (Color) calling the action. Eastside, which finished 7-4 last season, is seeking its fourth straight playoff appearance.
Aiden Wacksman will assist with the pregame, halftime and postgame. Coverage begins at 7 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
Mainstreet will also broadcast a separate football game online each week (audio only), giving fans two high school football broadcasts weekly. We are entering our sixth year of high school football coverage on 106.9 FM “I am Country” and our fifth year on Mainstreet Daily News.
Our coverage on MDN begins with Class 4A regional finalist Vanguard (Ocala) at Class 6A state semifinalist Buchholz on Thursday from Citizens Field in Gainesville. The Bobcats, who are aiming for another deep run in the playoffs, are seeking their fifth straight state semifinal appearance in 2025.
Cam Parker (Play-by-play) and Alex Washburn (Color) will call the game. Coverage begins at 6:45 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
All pregame shows on 106.9 FM “I am Country” will be 30 minutes in length, while all pregame shows on MDN will air 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
Plus, every Wednesday this fall, tune in to “The Prep Zone” sports show with Ridaught, which is the longest-running high school show of its kind in Florida.
The weekly program, which made its debut during the 2006-07 school year, originates from Sonic Drive-In of Gainesville (39th Avenue and Archer Road locations) and features interviews with coaches and athletes.
The program will debut tonight for 2025-26 from 6-7 p.m. at Sonic Drive-In on Archer Road with guests Rone and Joshua Wilson of FloridaHSFootball.com. They will preview the upcoming high school football season. The show is ‘live’ and ‘archived’ each week.
