Last night, Class 1A Saint Francis lost in four sets at Class 2A Bishop Snyder (Jacksonville). Junior Hannah Ulmer and sophomore Rilyn Prodesky led the Wolves (8-8) with 12 kills apiece.

We have two key district football games as part of our high school broadcast coverage this week.
On Thursday night, Buchholz will host Forest (Ocala) in an Alachua County vs. Marion County showdown. It’s also a battle of unbeaten teams and a FHSAA Class 5A-District 3 game.
The host Bobcats (5-0) rallied past previously unbeaten Jesuit, 20-17, in Tampa last Friday. Buchholz trailed 17-3 at the half, but the defense held Jesuit to only 10 offensive snaps in the second half and the offense scored 17 unanswered to remain undefeated.
Junior quarterback Andrew Whittemore threw for 151 yards and carried the ball 26 times for a team-best 132 yards and a touchdown.
The visiting Wildcats (5-0), who are coached by former Gator quarterback John Brantley, are seeking their second win against a Gainesville school. Forest won at Eastside, 39-15, on August 27.
Buchholz (5-0) is ranked 7th in Class 5A and 26th overall in Florida.

For the fifth consecutive week, our high school football Game-of-the-Week on 106.9 FM “I am Country” was decided by single digits. In overtime, Keystone Heights upset Bell, 16-13, on the road in a Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA) game.
This Friday, Eastside will host unbeaten Dunnellon (5-0) in another Alachua County vs. Marion County game. Plus, it’s a Class 3A-District 5 game from Citizens Field. Both teams are 1-0 in district play. Eastside, the defending district champion, has won the last two meetings by a combined four points, including last year’s 16-14 win on the road.
The Rams (1-4) lost at home to rival Gainesville, 24-10, last Friday, but their only victory this season (at Belleview on Sept. 11) has come in district play. Both teams are 1-0 in the district, so the winner will have the upper hand in league play.
