The district champion Gainesville Hurricanes host Lincoln (Tallahassee) Trojans in the 6A Region 1 quarterfinals tonight at Citizens Field.

The Hurricanes, winners of four straight, are coming off a 28-10 victory over cross-town rival Eastside last Friday after defeating St. Augustine, 17-14, on the road on Oct. 29 for the district title.

Gainesville (8-2) ranks No. 15 in this week’s regional power poll.

Lincoln (8-2) enters the matchup with a six-game winning streak that includes a 19-6 home win over Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville) last Friday.

Tune in to 106.9 FM I Am Country, where Mike Ridaught and Cam Parker will call the game. Pregame will start at 7 p.m. and kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

The winner between Gainesville and Lincoln will advance to the regional semifinals where they will play the winner of the Mosley-Gulf Breeze contest next Friday.
