Thursday’s Mainstreet Daily News livestream Game of the Week features Buchholz hosting Fleming Island (Orange Park) in the regional quarterfinals.
The Bobcats (9-1) secured the No. 1 seed in Class 7A Region 1 and have had big wins in recent weeks over regional powerhouses Bartram Trails (St. Johns) last Friday, 28-13, and Boles (Jacksonville), 14-7, on Oct. 22.
Buchholz, the top-ranked team in this week’s regional power poll, will face the 6-4 Fleming Island Golden Eagles, who enter the contest winning five of their last six games, including a 49-34 victory over Oakleaf (Orange Park) last Friday.
The winner of the Buchholz-Fleming Island contest will advance to play the winner of the Fletcher-University game next Friday in the regional semifinals.
