The Buchholz boys and the Oak Hall girls topped the annual Bobcat Classic Invite cross country meet at Santa Fe College on Saturday morning.
Buchholz had two top three finishers with Emerson Miller winning with a time of 16 minutes, 4.6 seconds, and his teammate Mason Kawaja came in third with a time of 16:47.1. Evan Flemming placed sixth at 17:29.3 and Samuel Freas was seventh at 17:29.3.
Oak Hall’s Caden Montini finished second at 16:40 and Quinten Dragstedt took fifth at 17:07.2.
Out of the 19 complete teams, Buchholz came in first with 28 points with a team average time of 17:10 in the 5K race, Oak Hall was third at 127, St. Francis Catholic was fourth with 155 and Eastside finished fifth with 160.
On the girls side, Oak Hall topped the 18-team field with 65 points with an average time of 21:24 and Buchholz finished fourth with 103. Gainesville took sixth with 191 and P.K. Yonge seventh at 205.
Olivia Niewald from Spruce Creek ran the best time of the day at 19:51.9. Oak Hall’s Sydney Miller fished third at 20:03.8 followed by Buchholz’s Kate Drummond in fourth at 20:09.2 and Eleanor Whisler in fifth at 20:14.9. Oak Hall’s Valeria Beaver placed seventh at 20:50.9, Lola Murfee was 12th at 21:20.4 and MacKenzie Klein took 13th at 21:21.3.
