Mainstreet Daily News is excited to announce the launch of two new innovations coinciding with the kickoff of the high school football season.

Starting Friday night, Mainstreet Daily News will host an exclusive live stream audio broadcast of the Stephenson’s Septic Tank Services Game of the Week. Each week we will bring a top high school football game into your living room or to your smartphone. Simply visit our homepage at game time on Friday nights.

Perhaps you live in a split household? Not a problem. Our new game is in addition to the regular football game broadcast on 106.9 I Am Country—so each week we’ll bring you two games featuring four local teams.

Mainstreet does not have a paywall, but pavement-pounding journalism is not free. Join your neighbors who make this vital work possible.

For the season opener, you can listen to Mainstreet Daily News Sports Director Mike Ridaught and color commentator Cameron Parker call the P.K. Yonge/Eastside game at 106.9 I Am Country. And at mainstreetdailynews.com, Nevada Cullen and Will Levenson will have the call for Yulee at Hawthorne. Both games kick off at 7 p.m.

Friday also marks the launch of a brand-new automated scoreboard. With the help of Lede AI, we will publish breaking scores as they happen with short, searchable stories. Mainstreet is the first outlet in Florida to adopt this technology.

“The team at Mainstreet Daily News is innovative and community-focused, which is what we love about them,” Lede AI CEO Jay Allred said. “Our partnership is an example of what local news can do when we keep the reader’s needs at the center of our efforts and let it drive innovative solutions.”

To find the scores, click on the “High School Scoreboard” tab from the sports dropdown menu at the top of our homepage. You’ll be able to scroll through headlines, then click and share your favorite team’s scores. For featured games, we will update them later with a more detailed recap and quotes.

We hope you appreciate these latest efforts to bring you the best high school sports coverage in North Central Florida. Please share them with your friends and send us your feedback at editor@mainstreetdailynews.com.
