Oak Hall Girls win state cross country championship

This past Sunday, the Oak Hall Girls’ cross country team won the Class 1A state championship. The Lady Eagles defeated Cambridge Christian in a tie breaker to win their second consecutive state title and their fourth in school history. 

Lauren Jones finished fourth individually with a time of 18:57.4. That marked the fastest time in the area this season.

Oak Hall’s Austin Montini won the boys individual title by less than a second in the closest finish in state cross country history. He joined P.K. Yonge’s Michael Anderson as the only 2-time winner in area history and brought home the third title in school history.

8-man state championship: All Saints Academy 22, Oak Hall 14

The Oak Hall football team’s bid for a state title came up short on Saturday night. The Eagles lost to All Saints Academy (Winter Haven), 22-14, at Bryant Stadium in Lakeland in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference 8-man state championship game.

The state runner-up Eagles finished the season with a 9-1 record.
