Sports beat: signings

Yesterday a couple of area players signed letters of intent to play at the next level.

Bell High School’s Taria Liles signed to play volleyball at Florida Gateway College in Lake City. Liles finished the year with a team-best 420 kills for the 20-6 Lady Bulldogs.

At Trenton High School, Jacob Guthrie signed to play baseball at Santa Fe College. Guthrie’s junior season was cut short at Trenton last spring due to COVID-19, but he was batting .417 through eight games and he was tied for first in several offensive categories.
