Sports beat: P.K. Yonge mercy rules Eastside

The P.K. Yonge baseball team defeated Eastside, 10-0, on Wednesday night.

Drew Dawson tossed five innings and struck out 10. He even had the mercy rule walk-off RBI.

“I felt pretty good,” Dawson said. “I felt like I pitched good. I got some strike outs, we got the runs. We did everything to win that game.”

Dawson, who only allowed one hit, got off to a great start by striking out the side in the top of the first inning.

“He pitched a great game,” said P.K. Yonge coach Rob Brunson. “We hit the ball well and ran the bases pretty well.”

The Blue Wave, who improved to 5-0, host Bronson at 7 p.m. on Friday night.

(Lacrosse) – The Oak Hall boys defeated St. Augustine 13-3. The Eagles, who improved to 3-0, will host Creekside (St. Johns) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.
