Sports beat: Soccer seasons come to an end for Alachua County

The high school soccer season has officially come to an end for Alachua County.

On Saturday night, the Eastside boys lost at Bishop Moore (Orlando), 3-1, in the FHSAA Class 4A regional semifinals and Santa Fe lost to unbeaten and top-ranked Arnold (Panama City Beach), 6-1.

Elsewhere, Oak Hall lost 4-0 to Maclay (Tallahassee) in Class 2A, and Gainesville was shutout 1-0 at Seabreeze (Daytona Beach) in Class 5A.

(GIRLS SOCCER) On Friday night, the P.K. Yonge girls soccer team lost in overtime against Bolles (Jacksonville), 2-1, in the Class 3A regional semifinals. The Lady Blue Wave suffered their first loss of the season and finished with a record of 15-1-2.
