Class 1A Union County gave Class 3A Trinity Catholic all it could handle on the baseball diamond Thursday night in Ocala.
The Celtics (12-9) overcame a 7-run deficit in the first inning and rallied for three runs in their final at-bat for a 12-11 win against the Tigers (19-2).
Whip Davis finished 2-for-3 with three runs driven in, Skyler Shatto drove in two runs, and Quintin Rawls was 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Tigers.
The loss snapped a 5-game winning streak for Union County, which will travel to Class 4A Baker County (Glen St. Mary) next Thursday, April 22, in the regular season finale.
Elsewhere, Santa Fe shutout Bradford (Starke), 9-0, at home.
Ryan Brown got the win on the mound. The Lake Sumter State College commit threw five innings and allowed no runs on just one hit with seven strikeouts and only two walks.
Devan Mitchum helped lead Santa Fe at the plate by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Dalton Dampier added a double a run scored and an RBI.
The Raiders, who improved to 18-2, will travel to Williston on Friday night. The first pitch is at 7 p.m.
