Week four in high school football opens with two games tonight, and a full slate on Friday.
The Chiefland Indians will play a rare Thursday night game,  traveling to Cross City to take on the Dixie County Bears in the annual Battle of the Suwannee. Â
Chiefland (0-1) lost its season opener this past Friday night, falling at Taylor County in Perry, 21-14. Indians’ sophomore Paul Davis had 102 yards on 15 carries in the loss. Dixie County defeated Williston, 40-18, to even its record at 1-1. Â
Also on Thursday at Citizen’s Field, the Gainesville Hurricanes will be at home against Ocala Trinity Catholic.Â
The visiting Celtics have two Auburn commits and a University of Florida commit on the offensive line, plus a returning 2,000 yard running back. Gainesville is currently 1-1 after losing 28-0 to Sanford Seminole last week. Ocala Trinity Catholic is 1-0 after opening its season with a 48-31 victory over South Sumter.
Kickoff for both games is 7:30.
And be sure to catch the Eastside vs. Buchholz Game of the Week on I am Country 106.9 FM this Friday night starting at 7pm.
