University of Florida Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Tebow announced on his Instagram today he and Country Music artist Luke Bryan have exchanged trophies in a Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs bet.
Tebow, the first sophomore to win a Heisman Trophy back in 2007 donated possession of his award for six months as part of a charity event last year and Georgia native Luke Bryan won the item in an auction.Â
Â
In a video on Instagram Tebow then announced that Bryan’s wife shared Bryan’s 2015 Country Music Award Entertainer of the Year Award.
“I was so honored to accept,” the award Tebow said.
Â
Then Tebow said he had just received a video from Bryan telling him it’s “Georgia/Florida week” referring to Saturday’s rivalry game.
Â
“That’s wrong,” Tebow says and announces that it’s “Florida/Georgia week.”
Bryan said he was going to curse the trophy by putting a Georgia Bulldog jersey on it.
Â
So Tebow in turn takes an infant size Gator jersey and places on Bryan’s CMA award.
Â
“He might curse mine, but I’m going to bless his,” Tebow said and then also placed a miniature helmet on the award.
Â
Tebow said Bryan’s award will feel a little more at home because, “We all know God loves the Gators being orange and blue. You can look at any sunset and understand that.”
Â
Then Tebow sits down in a chair with framed Gator #15 jerseys hanging on the wall behind him and reminds Bryan that he can understand why Bryan might be frustrated by the losing Bulldogs because, “1980 was a long time ago.”
Â
“We’re going to take great care of your trophy,” Tebow tells Bryan. “It will be comforted with a lot of orange and blue. Because guys, we all know it’s Florida/Georgia week.”Â
