Trenton edges Williston in a shootout

In a wild game that saw 10 touchdowns and multiple lead changes, the Trenton Tigers edged the Williston Red Devils 40-38 in a Friday night shootout.

The Red Devils held the halftime lead of 14-8 before Trenton scored 22 third quarter points to take the lead. Williston staged a furious rally in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points, but it wasn’t enough, as a Trenton touchdown in the final period sealed the deal.

The win evens the Tigers record at 3-3. Williston falls to 2-6. The Tigers are on the road next week against Bradford, while Williston plays at Chiefland in two weeks.
