“It was really cool getting to see her do it on her future field,” Santa Fe Inferno coach Jason Nowling said in the press release. “She was clutch in the circle and at the plate. She isn’t afraid to put the team on her shoulders and go when needed.”

Last Thursday, June 4, the UF commit was named the Florida Dairy Farmers Rural Class Player of the Year for the second straight year.

Then, on Friday, June 5, she was named the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, which is given to the top overall player in the state regardless of classification.

“I’m super grateful to be recognized for such an incredible honor,” Allaire said. “I want to thank my parents for always supporting me and my teammates and coaches for always having my back.”

The University of Florida commit helped lead the Tigers (25-3) to their third straight state title.

The junior finished the season with an 18-3 record and a 0.81 ERA with 295 strikeouts in 139 innings pitched. She also hit .449 with eight doubles, seven home runs, 17 runs scored, 28 runs batted in (RBI) and an .899 slugging percentage.

“She is a beast,” Nowling said. “Big game kid. The moment is never too big.”

According to the Gatorade press release, the 2024 Class 1A POY and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) District 7 Rural Player of the Year, Allaire has maintained a weighted 4.73 GPA in the classroom.

“I am incredibly proud of Addison for being named Florida Gatorade Player of the Year,” said Trenton coach Kevin Benson. “This honor reflects not only her outstanding performance in the circle and at the plate, but also her dedication, leadership, and character both on and off the field. She has worked tirelessly; her work ethic, competitiveness, and commitment to excellence have set the standard for our program.”

Another one of her travel ball coaches, Chris Chronister, also had high praise for her in the Gatorade press release.

“Addison has everything that it takes to be successful in the circle: great speed, great spin and great control,” said Chronister, who is the head coach of Gainesville High School and father of 2015-16 Gatorade Florida Softball Player of the Year Katie Chronister. “She’s an excellent hitter with great power as well. Trenton has an excellent team, but Addison is clearly the focal point.”

Allaire is a member of Trenton High School’s student government. She has volunteered locally as a private pitching coach and has also donated her time to multiple community service initiatives through her involvement with Future Farmers of America.

“She serves as a role model for her teammates and our community,” Benson said. “Being named Florida Gatorade Player of the Year is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the countless hours she has invested in her development in the classroom and on the field. This recognition is well deserved, and I couldn’t be prouder of her and the way she represents our team, school, and community.”

Allaire, who struck out 16 batters in a 1-0 win against Madison County in the state semifinals, also threw the first perfect game of her career against Madison County on April 10.

“I think it was in the back of my mind the whole time…” she said on “The Prep Zone Sports Show” on Wednesday, June 3. “We played in the light, so it was a little different. We had a couple of kids out, but it was really nice to do it.”

The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one state winner from each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C., in 12 different sports: football, girls volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, boys and girls soccer, and boys and girls track & field.

In total, 610 high school athletes are honored each year.

From the pool of state winners, one national winner is selected in each of the 12 sports. The selection process is administered by the Gatorade Player of the Year Selection Committee, which leverages experts, including coaches, scouts, media, and others as sources to help evaluate and determine the winners in each sport.

As part of Gatorade’s commitment to breaking down barriers in sport, every Player of the Year also receives a grant to donate to a social impact partner. To date, the Gatorade Player of the Year program has provided more than $6.4 million in grants to winners across more than 2,200 organizations.
