Key Points

With Tropical-storm conditions beginning on Friday, and possible hurricane conditions into Friday night as a result of Tropical Storm Isaias, area schools are being proactive by moving their games up a day.

Tropical Storm Isaias, which is forecast to become the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, is expected to bring high winds, flooding and isolated tornadoes to North Florida.

With the threat of the state’s first Hurricane of 2026 nearing, Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency for 25 Florida counties, including four counties in the Mainstreet coverage area (Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Suwannee).
