Today’s senior spotlight is on Wyatt Langford of Trenton High School. 

Langford played football, basketball, and baseball for the Tigers. He won a state title as an 8th-grader with the football team, which finished 14-0 in 2015.

He also won a state title with the baseball team as a freshman in 2017. The Tigers finished 27-1 that season.  Langford batted .391 as a freshman with eight doubles and 21 runs driven in.  

Langford is one of six seniors for the Tigers’ baseball team. He was a 6-year varsity starter and a five-time Gainesville Sun All-area selection. He was also a Perfect Game All-American, and a six-time Perfect Game All Tournament team selection. 

Langford was a .401 hitter heading into his senior year with 21 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, and 85 runs scored.  Last year as a junior, he hit .438, had a .584 on-base percentage and an .859 slugging percentage.  Through eight games this season, he was batting .417 with a team-leading three homeruns and 10 runs scored.  He had a slugging percentage of .916.

Senior Wyatt Langford, who was the 2019 Perfect Game National Home Run Derby champion, has signed with the University of Florida to continue his academic and baseball career. He is the first member of the Trenton baseball team to play for the Gators.
