Position Summary

The Housing Coordinator plays a key role in the management and administration of the Housing Choice
Voucher (HCV) Program. This position is responsible for managing a collaborative caseload, ensuring
program compliance, maintaining accurate reporting, and providing excellent service to program
participants and landlords.
Housing Coordinators contribute directly to program success, including maintaining high SEMAP
performance standards and accurate PIC reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and conduct annual and interim reexaminations, verify income, calculate rents and
    utility allowances, and notify participants of rent changes.
  • Manage participant appointments using MRI/Lindsey scheduler systems.
  • Process changes and submit HUD form 50058 as required.
  • Administer end-of-participation procedures in line with the GHA Administrative Plan.
  • Participate in informal reviews and formal hearings.
  • Maintain 97%+ quality assurance in HUD-50058 reporting and resolve PIC errors promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to requests within 48 hours.
  • Negotiate rent reasonableness and maintain accurate program statistics.
  • Ensure compliance with federal privacy laws by safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Stay informed on HUD regulations, attend training sessions, and recommend actions based on
    policy requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration preferred (experience may
    substitute for degree).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Typing speed of at least 45 WPM.
  • Ability to pass HCV Rent Calculation and HCV Specialist exams within 12 months of hire.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with applicants, landlords, and
    community agencies.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check (safety-sensitive position).
