Community Foundation appoints 2 board members, awards over $4M in grants

The Community Foundation of North Central Florida awarded more than $4.18 million in grants in 2023 and appointed Breck Weingart and Aidan Augustin will join the Board of Directors.  

The grant money was awarded to over 205 organizations. Grants included more than $1 million in support of mental health services for Alachua County youth for the eighth consecutive year.  

The Foundation assists donors, both individuals and organizations, with long-range planning of their support for charities in the community. The Foundation manages more than 130 funds and more than $63 million in assets and planned gifts.

The Community Foundation appointed Weingart, who is currently the chairman for Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI), and Augustin, who is the co-founder and chief revenue officer at Feathr.  

“2023 was a pivotal year for our Community Foundation as we celebrated our 25th anniversary,” said Barzella Papa, president and CEO of the Foundation, in a press release. “We are excited about the expertise our newest directors bring to the table, and we look forward to launching new resources for our community in 2024.”
