Butler Plaza announced that Barnes and Noble will hold its grand opening on March 20.  

The grand opening ribbon cutting will be at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at the Barnes and Noble (3728 SW Archer Road) in Gainesville. 

New York Times bestselling author Ginny Myers Sain will be at the event signing copies of her novels, “Dark & Shallow Lies,” “Secrets So Deep,” and “One Last Breath.” 

Butler Enterprises announced in September of 2023 that Barnes & Noble would return to Gainesville in early 2024. 

The new Barnes & Noble location will offer books, toys, arts and crafts, games, puzzles and music. The new store will also host author events, book club meetings and storytime programming.   

The store will house the Barnes & Noble Café where guests can order and enjoy beverages.   

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
