Okito America to establish third location in county

Okito America announced plans to expand into the city of Alachua with its third location scheduled to open in August.

Okito America, an after-school center, celebrated a second Gainesville location in September 2022, and the original location remains off SW Archer Road. Since its start in 2007, more than 9,000 students have graduated from Okito’s classes.

Orlando Millan, founder of Okito America, said the company is putting in the effort and care that its patrons have come to expect.

“We are very excited to have the support of the community,” said Millan. “Our expansion to the city of Alachua gives us the opportunity to impact the lives of families from the whole county, which is not a task we take lightly.”

The new location will be at San Felasco Tech City on US 441. The Alachua location will feature after-school programs that provide transportation and feature homework assistance, art, science, sports, basic Spanish skills and martial arts.

The new location will differ from the first two, adding a full kitchen to offer cooking classes for adults and children.

The business hopes to service the fast-growing city of Alachua along with smaller areas like High Springs and La Crosse.
