After a welcome to Hawthorne by Mayor Jacqueline Randall, Tractor Supply Company officials cut the ribbon on its new store along SE US Hwy 301.

The Hawthorne store opened on Aug. 13 but had to push back its ceremony until Saturday.

Employees handed out scratch-off gift cards with values ranging from $5 to $100 as TNT Katering cooked in the parking lot. Classic Hits 100.9 also showed up before noon to pump out the jams.

The city commission approved the store in the fall of 2021, and construction started early this year.

Tractor Supply now boasts three stores in Alachua County with a fourth on the way, coming to High Springs. The High Springs Plan Board approved a variance for the project at the end of August, and the city commission approved the site plan on Sept. 8.
